Happy New Year!
On January 1st, New Year's Day, I made my way downstairs at 9 am. After starting the coffee pot, putting the bacon in the oven, placing a pot of water on the stove to boil for grits, preparing the toast and setting the table for breakfast, I paused to reflect on the symbolism of the day. It certainly didn't feel different, as the holiday/weekend routine was in full effect.
I did recognize that there was an expectation of "better" and resolved that I was transitioning from 2018 with a rejuvenating spirit and excitement about the continuation of life. While I did not make any resolutions, I am intent to continue my journey with a singular recognition that all facets of my life (personal, professional and public) integrate to create my authentic being, allowing me to be the best that I can be for self and others.
As January rapidly approaches a close, and we settle into our routine, periods of reflection, resolve, recognition and rejuvenation; I wish each of you a Happy New Year!
